Business groups campaign for quick action on fiscal cliff

With the long election cycle finally at an end, associations are launching a tidal wave of campaigning aimed at preventing the U.S. from heading over the "fiscal cliff." Business-related entities are particularly anxious about the economic impact of tax hikes and automatic spending cuts scheduled to take effect in January if Congress fails to act. Trade groups and their members are joining new, shifting and overlapping—and some exceedingly well-financed—coalitions in an effort to sway lawmakers on tax reform and deficit reduction.
